Digital Marketing Workshop For Startups

On April 30, 2016, BWDisrupt organised a workshop for startups and entrepreneurs on digital marketing led by our CEO, Kapil Gupta at FLYP@MTV Cafe, Connaught Place.

The workshop mapped the current scenario in the Indian startup ecosystem, the challenges they face, areas where they get stuck up and the way ahead.

Here is a quick look at the tips & tricks.

Marketing isn't easy and it isn't cheap!
 Most of us think that startups are about great idea, great team and a great passion for success. The premise is that if the product is good, buzz and customer will happen on its own. But life is not that fair! It doesn't work like that. A fair combination of of art & science, hit & trial is what works in this space.

MVP vs GBF
Don’t fall for the trap of Get Big fast (GBF)! Build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and move towards a refined product via collaborative development with the users. Social media can be of immense help here. Leverage social platforms to connect with the users and channelize it for positive feedback and meaningful conversations.

Plan well, execute better and finish stronger
Planning well is the key here. Get your digital strategy in place with every bit of detailing - the target audience, their likes and dislikes, the platforms you want to use, the tonality you want to adopt, the message that you want to communicate, the emotional & physical call to action etc. Club this with influencer engagement activity and advocacy programme to increase the overall share of voice. Be crazy, be bold, add a dash of growth hacking process and watch your brand become the talk of the town.

Measure, analyse, plan and repeat
In digital it is most important to look at the data and make sense of it. So go through the insights of each platform, analyse what is working and what is not. This will help you plan aptly to achieve a roaring success.

The workshop was followed by an interactive session where the entrepreneurs engaged and talked about everything related to social media their startups. MASH Project, an interesting startup about social entrepreneurship volunteered to have their digital strategy built right at the workshop.
